Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, provide high quality nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards and home healthcare regulations.

Essential Job Functions Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Conduct the daily nursing functions in accordance with the patient's plan of care and current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern a home healthcare agency.
  2. Participate in agency orientation, training, meetings and continuing education.
  3. Document services in a timely manner.
  4. Promote safety and a safe environment for clients through observation, following Agency guidelines and reporting unsafe situations to the Director of Nursing.
  5. Communicate effectively through verbal reports, written reports and participation in staff meetings as requested.
  6. Document services provided and pertinent observations according to agency procedure.
  7. Fulfill accepted assignments with the agency.
  8. Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  9. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and a written plan of care. Must be able to deal tactfully with patients, personnel and family members. Must be able to work with the ill, disabled and the elderly. Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication.

Education and Experience

No experience required but must be willing to learn quickly.

Licensing/Certification

Must possess a current and active license to practice as an LPN in this state.
